I was using some 70% Climmax beads in some humiditube type humidifiers in a couple of my humidors. I also have some in my fridge-a-dor. I recently poured the beads out of the tubes and discovered that they had turned a brownish color and developed a very strong chemical-like odor. Also, many of them crumbled very easily when handled. The beads (from the same bag) in the fridge are still functioning normally with no weird colors or smells. Anyone have any idea what's going on?! TIA!
