I figured this was a good matchup because both bands were a bit soft with all the synthesizers and such. I'd have to go with the Cars only if I could delete Candy-O from the collection.

To me Styx was overblown music that took itself too seriously and featured a whiney-voiced singer. The Cars at least had catchy short but sweet pop tunes. No question in my mind.
That opinion is based on my current likes/dislikes, since I did listen to a lot of Styx back in the day. The Happy Schnapps Combo has 'em both beat. Quote:
