Vacume Sealing??

Has any one had any experience with vacuum sealing cigars for a short period of time to rid them of the infamous t. beetle. I was reading that cigar companies do this as part of their fumigation of sticks prior to shipping. They say that it crushes any eggs that are in the gars. Any thoughts on this as an alternative to freezing cigars?
