This beautiful vitola was gifted to me by our mentor Dan B. Thanks Dan. He indicated to me he didn't know what it was except it was an ISOM. Now I gotsta know!
A long tapered figurado shape with excellent construction and nice even veining on wrapper. Not knowing what to expect and knowing some ISOMs can be a tight draw, I clipped the end generously. No need. This bugger drew very well! I'm not good at finding all the subtle flavors other find. Maybe I tasted cedar, but it was the earthy Cuban taste and smell I love. It burned very even and hads lots of wonderful smelling smoke. Since I loved this one, I decided to smoke the second one after dinner. Armed with a cup of fresh ground and fresh brewed French Roast, I clipped the second one a little more conservatively. No problem. Drew very well indeed - not tight and not loose. Again that wonderful aroma and a finish like pepper on my lips. Two in one night is a little much, but if I ever find out what these were, I might try that again. Everyone who thinks it's TOJE's problem, say "aye"
