Oliva V - Double Robusto
Just got back from a quick run to Barclay-Rex from, what has become, a weekly ritual. Smoked an Oliva V-Series Double Robusto and came away impressed, not only at the cigar but THE PRICE! Only $6.65 with NYC tax!
This cigar is as good as people say it is. It has a very full flavor and strength to boot. It compares favorably with Tatuaje Cojonu 2006 that I smoked last week. I found the Tat to have a better blend in that there were more flavors throughout the smoke. The Oliva seems more one-dimensional. That being said, you can't beat it at that price point. The cigar started of spicy with strong chocolate and coffee and it really did not let up until the end. I'll even venture to say that it may be too strong in certain situations...such as before lunch, when I happened to smoke it! If you haven't picked one up, do so. I'm hoping to try this cigar in my favorite shape...Belicoso. It may become a regular in my Aristo.
