This week's whisky profile...

...on the CW Home Page spotlights Benromach 100º Proof Single Malt Scotch. This one's a 'winner'! You can read my take on it HERE. Even better if you can track down some of it to try for yourself.

Hope so too.

It's really quite the tale concerning how Gordon & MacPhail (longtime whisky merchants as well as one of Scotland's premier independent bottlers of spirits) acquired and then refurbished the abandoned Benromach Distillery.

If you can't find that particular bottling, keep an eye out for Benromach Cask Strength (vintage dated, and often drawn from first-fill ex-Bourbon casks), any of the 'special' cask strength releases (usually regionally marketed) or Benromach Peat Smoke (heavily peated, but still balanced). They're all of a high quality.

Thanks Doug. Fortunately my local B&M suppliers are carrying the Benromach malts, including the Imperial proof as well as the Peat Smoke. Benromach is quickly becoming a staple in my house. There is a very pleasant smokiness present, but well balanced. Lovely malts.

The main distributor in Dallas quit carrying them six months ago.
