Cellophane. ON or OFF?

I'm new here and just started filling my humidor for the very first time.

Is it preferrable to keep the cellophane on or off when filling the humidor?
I read its a matter of preference, but that keeping the cellophane on, opened at each end (allowing for maximum humiditiy optimization) is the recommended method.

Is this critical or can I just leave the cellophane on?
With that said, aesthetics are not important to me whatsoever
