H Upmann Magnum 46 (ROA JUL 06)
I've only had these in my humidor for about a week, but I have some unusually bad news for this particular cigar. My sample came from a 50 cab. The problem with these is construction. The one I smoked was soft and underfilled. Upon checking numerous others in the cab, all had the same squishy and underfilled feel. My punch nearly caved in the head and I've never had that happen.
The taste of this sample was very average, but I would not necessarily think otherwise except for the rave reviews the '06's have been getting across most brands. It was nothing more than common cuban tobacco taste, bordering on the bitter side in the last half. Very loose draw as expected. Perhaps some time will help with the taste, but the mediocre construction is permanent. This was not in any way an example of what I have come to expect in this cigar. I have had numerous cabs from '01 through '05 and all have been superb. Now to pack these back up...
