The Police
Led Zeppelin Robbin Trower The Rolling Stones Deep Purple The Little River Band Credence Clearwater Revival Moody Blues The Alman Brothers Bachman Turner-Overdrive My personal Favorite Black Sabbath (Careful where you listen to this ) Elvis Costello Fleetwood Mac Foghat Marvin Gaye Jethro Tull Early Elton John Lynyrd Skynyrd Steve Miller Alan Parsons Project Cat Stevens Jim Croche YES The Who The Edgar Winter Group Warren Zevon This is a partial list to help flush out my other list. You may love some, hate some, and not care about the rest but this is what I would consider a list of the Roots of modern Rock n' Roll. Many of these bands I can no longer listen to since I have gone there too many times. Still, they are some great bands and if you are interested in that sound this is a good list to start with. There are of course ten times this number of bands that produced great music. I would offer to have a music trade but I have sold most of these bands material. If you are interested though, I do have some mind blowing music I would love to carve up for you and I would love to get some copies of the local cultural music that Saudi Arabia has to offer. Best of luck to you
