Me too - clearly the best of both worlds. The trick is you have to leave a tiny sliver diameter-wise to keep it from falling off. Years of skill with an exacto knife have perfected this technique. I also do free-lance circumcisions.

I leave it on. I think it adds extra protection from any RH swings, mold, beetles and handling.

True, cellophane is not a barrier to moisture, it is more of a "speed bump". It slows it down but it doesn't stop it.
