"antique" humidor

Does anyone own / have experience with antique humidors suitable for storing boxes, specifically ones with a copper lining?
I've been looking at one that looks nice, I'm just not sure how well they perform.
Thanks

Really Talk to Xrundog, his restoration of antique humidors is well documented in his User Gallery, he is REALLY good at it (speaking as someone who proudly owns an Xrun-original.)

If you're looking to store boxes then I assume you're looking at one of those larger cabinets that have a swinging door in the front. I have used one of these older cabinets and they work just fine.

It is all a matter of moisture retention and it all comes down to the seal of the door. If the door seals well then you're likely in good shape.

Metal and glass interiors obviously don't have the moisture retention properties of spanish cedar. So you will see wider RH% variations. But for box storage, I don't think it's a big deal. If the humidor has good integrity, I think it will work fine. If you want to do singles, some cedar trays might help stabilize RH. I know some fellows use the old desktops as they are and report good results. Depends how picky you are I guess(I'm moderately picky).

Ya know, I think it would perform very similar to a cooler!
