A few questions...
Hello,
I've posted here just a couple of times but I've got a few questions that I would appreciate if someone answered. 1) I have a humidor (holds about 75 cigars) that hasn't been used in about a year. I plan to restock it and use Heartfelt beads (65% RH). Do I have to season the humidor again since it hasn't been used in awhile? 2) How do I go about rehumidifying the humidor. Do I simply just place the beads in the humidor with the cigars (I plan to start with about 25)? Or do I place the beads in, let them sit awhile and then add the cigars? 3) I have never used the beads before, in the past I've used the propylene glycol solution which I found to be ineffective. How long will the beads keep their effectiveness, roughly? Thanks for the help. |

Yes, re-season the humidor 2) How do I go about rehumidifying the humidor. Do I simply just place the beads in the humidor with the cigars (I plan to start with about 25)? Or do I place the beads in, let them sit awhile and then add the cigars? I'd place a small shallow container, filled halfway with water, into the humidor. Then I'd place the container of beads in the humidor. Let everything sit for a couple weeks. This way you're re-seasoning the humidor and seasoning the beads at the same time. 3) I have never used the beads before, in the past I've used the propylene glycol solution which I found to be ineffective. How long will the beads keep their effectiveness, roughly? For years, as long as you use them properly.
