I could not wait to sample one, having read so much about them. These are box code PUL Oct. 01. The wrapper is a deep brown, oily as all hell, smooth with no large viens. It had a very rich pre-light aroma, and draw was free.
The first third was heaven, with spice, and a light hint of cocoa. As it progressed, the wrapper behind the ash became somewhat swelled and crinkled, which I attribute to its freshness, but had no problem staying lit. Further on, the flavor intensified, and I became aware that I was getting a definite buzz, but not an unpleasent one. A bit past the halfway point, the cigar began to canoe a little, but after rectifiying this with the lighter, the problem did not return. The final third was all Punch, and everything that I have read about. Although I have read comments about RS #11 being a more complex, refined vitola, I was really happy to know I have 24 more of these waiting. |
