The first band you "heard"

What was the first band (group, individual singer...whatever) you "heard' that caused you to get into music? Living Colour (when I was very young) was the first music I heard that really had an effect on me. Sure I had listened to other music prior to that, but this band caused me to realize how important music would be in my life. So who was it for you?

Living Colour? When you were "really young?" Damn whippersnapper, I got drawers older than you! Hell, I got ON drawers olde.... er, nevermind.

For me it was The Allman Brothers ......... when I was relatively young...... and it wasn't on one of them new fangled cassettes either - I was in the audience.

5th Dimension - Age Of Aquarius

I was very young. My dad had a few Motown albums but mostly stuff from the 50s like The Everly Bros, stuff like that. He also had a bunch of The Smother Brothers which I still like to this day.

In my youth my home was filled with music...from Buck Owens and Waylon Jennings from my Mom and Dad, to the early/mid 70's rock enmating from my older sister's bedroom, Lynyrd Skynyrd,Boston, Aerosmith, ZZ Top.

But I guess the most I remember is the Waylon Jennings glory years. Made me a fan at 7. First album I ever bought was the Waylon GH album.

So Waylon, Hoss.
