the retaliation tariffs against bourbon are hurting the industry... tariffs don't work the way some people think they do...

Before the 16th Amendment, tariffs were the chief revenue source of the federal government.
Comparing tariffs pre 1916 to tariffs today isn't fair. Today's economic focus is more complicated. In today's world, using historical tariffs amounts to a global pissing match. Nobody wins a pissing contest.

Smithfield was on sale last weekend for $3 a package. Normal bacon prices haven't budged. I stocked up on a 99 cent sale.
