"Cigar Oasis" vs "Le Veil" active humidi

I just came across this ad, http://www.humidorhaven.com/ZSKUA50103.asp, and was wondering how the "Le Veil" compares to the "Cigar Oasis" active humidivication system. Said to have been introduced at this years RTDA, I was wondering is anyone familiar with "Cigar Oasis" had the opportunity to look at one of these, and would like to know what you think. Curious about construction, what the humidification media is, etc.

Price-wise they are about the same cost, with the "Le Veil" being just a twitch more on the MSRP, but the Ebay "buy now" prices are similar for both units.

You opinion is appreciated and thanks in advance.

You risk not being able to find refill devices for the viel as wher the oasis is everywhere it will be easier in the future to buy refills.

What I've read so far leads me to believe the Le VEil is refillable, similar to the "Plus" series of Cigar Oasis. But you are correct, even the refillable media needs to be replaced eventually.

Vicsteele has a good point. A friend of my bought an new ionic breeze with an u/v lamp built in to kill germs and what not.The lamp went out as lamps all do and ended up throwing the the $500.00 unit away because he could not find a replacement lamp and when he finally did it costed half mrsp of the unit.

If replacements are not readily available than i wouldn't buy it.JMO

It wasn't all that long ago that "Cigar Oasis" was a "new" product, and hard to find, too. But it has proved to be a good product and now you can find them everywhere. When I bought my first one there was only one or two retailers who had them, and before the "Plus" came out (re-fillable) you had only one on-line source for new cartridges, and this was only like 5-6 years ago. (By the way, that particular unit is still working too , but now has a "Plus" cartridge and power cable.)

So, I'm more curious about the operation of the Le Veil unit, and it's construction, material used and it's perceived longevity. I'm assuming the specific operation of the unit is similar to the Cigar Oasis units, but I haven't really heard. Anyone have any direct experience with these new active humidification units?

i've got 4 CO+'s and am looking to buy another...if the le veil was priced lower i'd consider it, but since it's at the same price point, no way...i'll wait and read what other have to say about its performance as time goes on...

I did just receive a Le Veil active humidifier for my 400 count foot locker 'dor. Just got it installed last night. I will report on it's performance after about a month. Initially it's set up is similar (read identical) to the C.O. units, holds about the same amount of distilled water. I do like the fact that it has a built-in digital hygrometer. I found this one at about $16.00 cheaper than the best price on a new C.O. (even on Ebay) that I could find. No shipping charges helped that out a bunch. So far so good , I'll let you know later.
