Lennon or McCartney?
When I was younger it was definitely Paul, but as I have gotten older I'd have to say John. However, I don't think either was as good individually as they were collectively.

That's pretty much the same way I feel Gumby. When I was a kid, Paul was definitely my favorite.......and I agree, it's the combination of the two that really created the "magic".

Ditto. McCartney has too many silly little love songs. John was more on the edge. Together they were fab.

I do like the first couple McCartney solo albums, but Mccartney needed Lennon to give him some edge, and Lennon needed McCartney to smooth some of his edges. If I had to choose, Lennon would edge McCartney out. But I'm on the edge. |

I think people's memory of John Lennon has been clouded by his tragic death.

Lennon could have been Michael Jacksons roomate he was such a kook, great writer though just wierd, he slpet with Yoko Ono. I go with PM although he should be ashmaned for letting the King of Pop outbid him on the beatles tunes. Whoss smarter Michael or PM. I think that's obvious look at owns the rights to the beatles tunes...

Lennon obviously wrote the more edgy music, but their writing as a team created magic IMO.
That being said, I have seen Paul McCartney live twice and this man can flat out entertain and loves it. He is a special talent, even given all those silly love songs. |
