I used some small pieces of corner wood, and screwed them into the side of the cooler, using small wood screws, I also sealed each screw with putty to make sure it was airtight. The cedar shelves I bought at my local wood hobby shop for 8 dollars for a 2 ft by 6 in width and 1/4 thick. Nit bad in price. Plus the cooler I bought from costco had some edges to slid the shelves in, but they did not extend all the way to the front. That is why I had to add the small pieces of wood near the front to support the shelves.
