so, is it true Crawfish are now a popular food in the Sacramento area?

Um....no.

Crawfish is not a popular food here in Sactown. Hell....people here call them Crawdads

Why do you ask?

BTW - My wife is Cajun, so we always have Crawfish in the freezer. She can cook a mean gumbo!

Well we have had a Crawdad Festival in Rio Vista (town about 20 miles away) for about 20 years now, not sure about popular "now." We DO live on the edge of the Delta after all....

Sacramento looks enough like the Mississippi Delta to pass for it in the movie Life.

Very true and the Sacramento river has been used many times by the movie industry as a stand-in for the Mississippi River.
