The freezing should kill any bugs in the cigars. The slow removal from cold/low humidity (freezer) to warm/high humidity (humidor) will aid in avoiding torn wrappers.
To the post above, also put the ziploc'd cigars in the fridge for a day before freezing to help acclimatize them.
The method really works.
