Analog hygros are all junk. Not only are they off, they are usually inconsistently off and by different amounts across the range. Might be +4 one day, +6 another day, +2 at 60% RH, -5 at 75% RH. You get the idea.

Most digitals are not extremely accurate either, but they should at least be consistently off. For example, a digital might read -3 all the time - whether the actually RH is 55% or 75%.

Take a tube of beads and put it into a tuperware container with your digital hygro. Let it sit overnight and you'll know its true reading. Mine is -3%. So as long as it reads 60-02%, I'm happy.
