Guess I should chime in since it was my question...
I like most of the heavy hitters , Muddy Waters etc... Robert Johnson because of the history ... Two guys, who are Mississippi Hills blues guys... if I could only listen to two blues musicians it would be ... Jr Kimbrough and RL Burnside... And if you limited me to only to only one it would be RL Burnside... It was probably 10 years ago , I had never heard of them , on Pandora they showed up back to back , my ears really perked up , there are a few other hills guys that are good , but , those two are the best by far ... in fact several blues songs considered standards are RL Burnside songs covered by many artists .... If you like BB King , check out Byther Smith , his version of , Thrill is Gone , is far superior to BB's ... Dan

No way to choose just one. Most of my top name have already been mentioned, BB, Buddy, Hooker, SRV.RL Burnside. I even liked his collaborations Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. with Current artists I would have to say Joe Bonamassa especially his duet releases with Beth Hart. Glad to see Marcia Ball mentioned by BigO, She is my wife's favorite. Sonny Landreth needs to be mention, mean slide guitar player. Eric Gales is killin' it also. It was just announced that Eric Gales and Joe Bonamassa are doing a cd together.
