What color is the dreeded Tobacco beetle? I opened a box of BBF 02 yesterday afternoon and saw this little white bug crawling on one of my smokes. I thought the dreeded creatures were dark in color black or brown. No holes in any smokes no other damage, anybody ever seen this before? thanks in advance for the info.

If it had legs, it probably isn't a tobacco beetle, unless it is an albino (unlikely but possible.) If it looked like a little white grub/worm, it is probably the larval stage.

It didn't look like a worm or grub he was moving kinda quick to. It looked like those tiny red ants,( but this one was white) the ones that look like little red dots that move quick.

Sounds kind of like the things I had crawling around my cooler a couple weeks back, if they're light grey or white, and about a millimeter long or so. Those were diagnosed by the guys here to be cigar mites, which are attracted to the glue in cigar bands, and don't harm the cigars. That said, I don't particularly like the idea of having little bugs crawling around my cigars, so I decided to freeze them anyways.

Put those suckers in the fridge quick! there is no reason to risk it.

Do you guys have a suggestion on the best way to freeze cigars? Assume no box. Thanks!

put them in a freezer zip lock bag, then put that zip lock bag into another ziplock bag before placing in the freezer.

Yep. fvfanmc nailed it!

I freeze every cigar this way. Before it enters my humidor it gets put in the freezer.
I usually do:
3 Days in freezer
1 day in refrigerator
1 day in room temp
then they go in the humidor.

They stay in the bag the entire time until they get into the humidor.
