Ever hear of a couple of fellows by the names of Alasdair Fraser and Paul Machlis? Fraser plays fiddle and viola with exceptional skill while Machlis hits the piano and synthesizer keys and is able to invoke a wide range of moods. Their "Skyedance" (Culburnie CUL101D) and "The Road North" (Sona Gaia ND-62755CD) albums are well worth giving a listen to, as they're full of lilting melodies and infectiously up-tempo jigs.
