Rocky Patel 15th anniversary. Toro

Size is Toro. Box pressed. Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with nicaraguan binders and fillers. Wrapper is slightly oily but not Steve Saka oily.

Pre light draw is good with some chocolate in it.

1st inch has some spice with a little bit of leather. Retro is a medium cedar. Pretty much same as the last RP review I did.
Ash fell off right at the 1 inch mark. Flavors have opened up a bit. Cocoa, espresso and cedar. Cedar on the retro. Burn is terrible but I’ll give it a chance to fix itself before touching it up. Smoke output is good. Slight spice on the palate that’s lingering.

1/3 of the way in and no changes in anything. I could never be a real cigar reviewer because I tend to be very honest. I’m bored and looking at another 40 minutes to get through this at least. Right now there’s more cedar than anything and not very exciting. See if it gets any better in the next 1/3.
2nd 3rd has more espresso and cedar. I think the cedar is considered the spice but it’s definitely cedar.

Last 3rd and the cedar is turning to spice. Retro is smooth with a mild cedar note. Smoke output still very good. Once I corrected the burn issue the burn line has remained good.
The finish on this improved. Richer with espresso and leather notes an a medium spice note as well. Cigar went out for the 2nd time with about 1 1/2 inches left. I didn’t bother relighting.
For a 15th anniversary cigar I guess I was expecting something special. This was not. Average at best. 82-84 would be my score.
Of the 3 RP's I just reviewed I think the decade was the best.
