Thompsons sent me ...

... some new toilet paper today! Damn high gloss pages tend to just smear it around though Thought they could get that right but alas they pretty much suck at everything.

its the one catalog I really don't bother with. Maybe its the copy pardner, or drowning in a sea of churchills for several years...but the deals... I never see a good deal in that catalog (or one that I like anyway).

I haven't received a Thompson's catalog in a long, long time.

They always made great reading material for the study.

I don't mind getting their catalog. I have not ordered cigars from a catalog in years but still fun to read then toss. I can't even remember the last time I ordered from a catalog. Some catalog could be T-Famous-Holts...? is where I first heard of Nicarao.

if I am gonna order I just go to the retailers website

They are responsible for helping a lot of different folks into the BOTL and it is up to us to keep them here.
You see Thompsons ads in newspapers, Outdoor life magazines, Sports Ill magazines, USA Today etc the list goes on and on, at home or in the dentist office.
For many where B&Ms are not available Thompsons is the first exposure many get; and you get a humidor, cutter and cigars for $19.95!!!!
Sure, as a person gets more seasoned they move on usually, but Thompsons was there first.

Besides I saw their ad for PAM 5 gars sampler for $80.00 now That is not a bad price (for PAMs).

And no I have NOHING to do with Thompsons or their Co and I haven't bought from them in years and years. But I see no reason to pick on them for being there.

I did buy the travel case you see advertisted for 29.95 love the case it's a gig case for me, perfect. The Thompson reserva - espscial or something was a decent cigar. I smoked a Navarro years ago & if'n I was a fan of Excaliburs I'd just as soon have the Navarro...that was back then have no idea about now but I don't like Excaliburs/Navrro flavors too much cedar.

I really like my Thompson humis not a problem with them at all.

I can't call myself a fan of Thompsons though but you are right they are usually the first conmpany to gouge many new smokers

Thompsons

I always see a lot of bad remarks about Thompons on this and other BB's.
I think everyone should know that Thompsons is a tremendous supporter and financial backer of your right to smoke, and your right to buy cigars through the mail. Many, many of the mail order companies frequently mentioned and championed for having lower prices, and many of the manufacturers of brands touted on the BB's contribute absolutely NOTHING.

Even with a minimum contribution to the CAA of $2500.00 a year (that's 50 bucks a week folks) they refuse to join. Let the other guy pay. That's their motto. The same is true of cigar manufacturers and importers.

I ought to put a list in the next Cigar Magazine of the manufacturers who have given nothing to support lobbying efforts to preserve smokers rights.

Thompsons are good people, and I am proud to call them good friends as well. Tossing their catalogue is a matter of personal preference. Continuously bad mouthing them is a dis-service to everyone who cherishes their right to buy and smoke cigars.
