It is a steel blade, cutting tobacco leaves. Unless you are sawing through twigs all of the time, it isn't even going to notice. I've probably cut 250 or so cigars on mine and it still cuts perfectly, everytime. There isn't another steel blade on the market which isn't going to manage to cut a cigar and for the price of any of these "premium" cutters, you can buy a dozen or more of them. I haven't seen a single complaint in over 5000 of these things and if you manage to break one, they can be replaced.
