Coffee behaviour.

I don't know how all of you guys handle your cofee. I have found an unusual pattern in mine.

I tend to buy crap coffee for every day use, better for weekends and good coffee for when I can't stand to drink either of the other types of swill.

I realized the other day that when I make the crap coffee, I experiment without really intending to, and after a few pots I am using the absolute minimum, so I can tolerate the swill without burning holes in my stomach. When using the better coffee, I use the minimum once again, and set it at the level that I can live with. It ain't gonna get any better, so why make it stronger?

When I use good coffee, I realized the other day that I tend to just keep going. I tell myself that another scoop would be okay. Then some more. Hell, why keep another few crumbs in the grinder? Dump that whole pile in, that filter can hold most Of it! There can never be enough black stuff in that thing.

I even use my espresso maker to cheat. Three heaped table spoons of finely ground coffee, compacted as hard as I can get it, brewed with about six ounces of water and served black in a cup. Wowwww. Yummmmers.
