My coffee lament
I have a thing about hording fine tastes - cigars, wine, single malt, and the like.
One of the reasons I got into home roasting was to get the very best and freshest tastes in coffee. Anoher was that I could pick a different roast and origin when ever I wanted. I found a variety of beans I liked and bought lots. Then I gave up coffee for a year or so - just strayed away. I've taken it up again, and I have found that the 50 lbs of coffee I horded in 02 - all of the flavors and aroma I enjoyed so much are now muted or non-existent. Is this what happens to old beans? Anyone? Leonard |
