The Solis Maestro Plus is a good grinder for basic use. They are coming out with a new model that has a 3 point locking mechanism to keep the upper burr from rocking. This should help make this grinder a better contender. Even thought the SMP can be used by many for espresso the difference in crema and overall flavor of the shot is increased significantly by a better grinder like a Mazzer. If espresso is not your main focus then Solis should be fine.
