Welcome to C.W. Dub.

If you read some of the old posts on methods of brewing coffee you will find that
for every method of brewing there are those who will sing the praises of each method.
You will also find that for every method there are those who will tell you why they don't like that method.
Which ever way you brew now just try to perfect it. There are so many factors that effect your cup o joe.

Beans: Some you will like, some you wont.
Roast: Too light or too dark will change the taste drastically.
Grind: Too coarse or too fine will make a difference.
Water: Some only will use bottled water.
Temp: Improper water temp when brewing will cause a change in taste.
Filters: Gold,Bleached or non bleached will change the taste.

With some methods and filters you will find some " mud " in the bottom
of your cup, just don't take the last sip.

It's like searching for the " Holy Grail ". It's out there some where
you just have to experiment until you find it.
