Lighter question

I read on another board that many people prefer a "soft flame" lighter to light their cigars rather than using a torch lighter. This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm sorry, but what is a "soft flame" lighter? I'm trying to find an alternative to torch lighters b/c I have trouble with torch lighters during the day, I usually end up charring the foot of the cigar b/c I can't see the flame due to the sunlight. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyway, does a "soft flame" lighter avoid this problem; I mean are you able to see the flame in sunlight?

One more question where can you purchase a good quality "soft flame" lighter? Something under $60. Thanks in advance.
