Southern Draw Kudzu Axil

This cigar has a nice firm bunch with no hard spots. It has a pigtail cap and a rustic wrapper that smells like the jacket area of a Harley shop. The foot is closed. The cold draw is perfect. Tonight’s beverage is a Samuel Smith’s Chocolate Stout.

Initial notes are strong cedar with very light pepper in the retrohale. The burn is nice and even and the ash is medium grey. This is definitely a medium to full bodied smoke.

In the first third leather notes join the cedar notes. The cigar is burning very even and the ash is medium grey. Some black pepper notes are blending in the retrohale.

During the second third the black pepper notes are not only in the retrohale with a nice spicy flavor an the tongue. A light brisket note is also emerging . The cigar continues to be very even and the ash is pretty solid. Another winner from Robert Holt and Southern Draw. The second third the pepper notes are not only in the retrohale, leaving a nice pepper note on the tongue. The burn continues to be even. The construction of this cigar is immaculate.

This is a medium bodied cigar with full flavor. The complexity of flavors is excellent, blending the flavors nicely. After two thirds the burn is still very even, although the ash falls regularly at 3/4” intervals. It is matching nicely with the ale.

Approaching the final inch a coffee note has emerged to blend nicely with the other flavors. An excellent cigar that continues to burn even. The overall complexity is excellent and the construction is immaculate. The smoke remains cool and pleasant. 9/10, Joe Bob says check it out.
