Old Days....(cigar related)
I remember many years ago, when I was in Little League baseball, our coach always had a cigar in his mouth. Funny..it NEVER bothered any of us guys, or our parents.
In fact, we could attend little leage games and you could smell popcorn, hotdogs...and cigarette smoke, with a few cigars...occasional pipe mixed in. Never bothered ANYONE! (that was the late 60s, early 70s) So do you guys think times have changed?

Cause now the male populus has been emasculated and their women have become more bitchy.

I was in little league in the early 80s and remember the same smells when we got to play at "M.B. Hagen". That was the big time in my day. It was one of those old style fields where the concessions where in the bottom of the wooden building and the announcer's booth was above where they would call the game on a PA system that always gave feedback. People smoked, kids played in the parking lot, mom's yelled at other people's kids if they were doing something wrong, etc...
The world made a lot of sense back then!

I wish that I could drop back into the past and spend a month or two in the 50's and sixties. Specifically 50, 55, 60, and 65. I would just like to see the differences, and learn what the people were like. You can only get so much from the history and nostalgia programs, and there is so much that is still missing.

I think that was before they knew the ill-effects of secondhand smoke.

My son played in a Babe Ruth league abouot 1995. The home plate umpire would fire up a cigarette between innings behind the third base dugout.

Watch the original Bad New Bears - alot different back then.
Heck - now schools are teaching that cigar smokers and cigarette smokers are one and the same
