I have an opportunity to buy a Crown IC 150A

Preamp for $200. I know Crown had a sketchy rep in the 70s, but was a decent preamp. I've had a Dynaco PAT4 and I was satisfied with it until the Carver amp shit the nest. I'm not an audiophile, but I want a preamp to handle my 10" and 7" rtr as well as a Yamaha double cassette deck. I have a restored Dual turntable, multiple restored Advent speakers and both Berwen tape and pop and click filters. My CD player is a Kenwood, but suspect.

Any thoughts from the audiophiles out there? I also have a couple of McIntosh high-end speakers without the crossover that are in need of restoration.

I see that this is vintage equipment from the 70s, not comparable to their later products. The last separates I owned were from the 80s, Museatex by Meitner Amp and Preamp, before that Acoustat and Nakamichi. I know that NAD made some really nice separates back in the day as well as Luxman and many others. Of course you can't beat McIntosh vintage equipment, but I'm guessing pricey. Here is a picture of my old stuff.

Looks like I should pass on it. I'm really not going high fidelity audiophile quality, just want reasonably good, reasonably priced gear.

I've been looking at the monoprice 200w bridgeable amp. One should be enough, but 2 would be better. Im coming up snake eyes on a decent, affordable pre-amp.

Yeah, but there's no way that sells for less than $500. I found a Carver HR-742EX for $140 that should both serve my immediate needs and can be used as a preamp when I add power amps to it later.
