How Full Is To Full - Coolidor
I seem to have been on a buying binge and have ended up with a very full coolidor. I mean packed. I have 65% and 70% beads keeping the humidity @ 67-68%. My concern is with a tightly packed coolidor, will some of the boxes get starved for humidity?
BTW, I'm not trying to brag about the coolidor being full. Just worried I'll screw up some aging smokes. Thanks for the continued support. Hank |

When I was using coolers I would pack them solid...the humidity should find its way around if given enough time...full is good

Hank the one good thing about coolers being extremely full is that you have lots of cedar (boxes) and lots of cigars is that once stabalized at the proper RH, the environment in the cooler will stay very stable.
I've got four 120 qt coolers. Two of those are packed with boxes as tight as I can Tetris the organization of them and one has cedar trays staked on one end and the remainder is packed to the lid with singles in fivers, ten packs and gallon ziploc bags. I use beads contained in panty hose, with some in the middle zone of the cooler and more on top of everything in the cooler. I've never had a problem that I could tell with even humidification in any of them. I grab cigars from all areas of the coolers fairly regularly and everything smokes and burns very good. I keep my coolers at 63-65% with kitty litter beads and have had no issues at all. If your just worried about even distribution of the humidity you can do some searching and see if you can come up with an Oust fan to place in each cooler. Not sure if they can be found anymore or not. They run on batteries and cylce on and off every once in a while which would help circulate the air in the cooler as well as the humidity. I had considered buying some at one point just because, but never had any issues with any cigars that made me think I needed the circulation benefit.

I have always found that it was better for them to be full.

I'm of the opinion that it's too full when the lid no longer closes.
BTW, good job filling the cooler.

Open it up once every 2 months and "reorganize"
You'll be fine.

That can be very dangerous when you're at "The Tetris point". Getting everything back in is sometimes very difficult and frustrating.
