Boxing Day Football, 2008

As ever, on Boxing Day (December 26) the Premiership has a FULL slate of matches, and THEN, the regular weekend matches on Saturday, Sunday and Monday night.

Here's what's on board for Friday.
Quote:
Friday 26th December 2008
Stoke City v Manchester United 12:45 Britannia Stadium View Match Preview >
Chelsea v West Bromwich Albion 13:00 Stamford Bridge View Match Preview >
Portsmouth v West Ham United 13:00 Fratton Park View Match Preview >
Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham 13:00 White Hart Lane View Match Preview >
Liverpool v Bolton Wanderers 15:00 Anfield View Match Preview >
Manchester City v Hull City 15:00 City of Mcr. Stadium
Middlesbrough v Everton 15:00 The Riverside Stadium
Sunderland v Blackburn Rovers 15:00 Stadium of Light
Wigan Athletic v Newcastle United 15:00 JJB Stadium
Aston Villa v Arsenal 17:15 Villa Park
Some REALLY intriguing matches here, this year.
Starting at the bottom, a surging Villa will seek to cement their spot in the top 4 at the expense of Arsene Wenger's slipping Gooners at Villa Park.

Resurgent Sunderland host a more positive Rovers side--at least they looked reinvigorated last weekend for new boss Sam Allardyce.

Manchester City are now in the relegation zone, how will this play out will Mark Hughes last long enough to spend his owners' millions? I still say he was all set at Blackburn, and shouldn't have moved.

Marty and Stan's Spurs play host to my Cottagers at White Hart Lane. Sorry guys, a road win for Fulham would really kick things up a notch, and that belief could well set the stage for a UEFA Cup run. How great would that be? It'd be nice to see them sneak in another Yank during the window.

Stoke City have slipped a bit in the last couple outings, I don't expect a win from them, and a draw would be a nice result against United, and could possibly soften up United for their weekend opposition. BUT the Brittania is a rabid place to play, so unlikely is never impossible. It'd be nice to see Tony Pulis' Potters sneak one past United.
