Here's one from a region I haven't visited in some time...
Dao Meia Encosta 2003 from Portugal - 12.5%ABV ($10.60CDN) Vinhos Borges SA A 'simple' wine, to be sure, but one with a sufficiently substantial constitution to easily stand up to a roast, pasta dish or pizza. The fruit aspect is clean and forward, and the wine finishes with a nice peppery touch. What more could one ask for at this price level?
