There are a lot of different curries. I'm not fond of the Indian traditional curry (although I eat it every five years or so), but the red, green, and massiman (yellow) curries from southeast Asia are a different animal and are quite tasty.

Contains a lot of beneficial spices, too.

In the previous dish, I used a combination of regular curry powder and red curry paste.

I have a dish that I and the girls really like.. I separate the florets from a head of cauliflower and slice an onion. I bloom a can of red curry paste in some oil and add the cauliflower and onion, sauteeing it for a couple of minutes until it is coated. I add a few teaspoons of canned chicken stock and cook it to the desired level of crunchiness.

We like it a lot.

mushroom mix sauteed in butter and olive oil then tossed with sherry and sherry vinegar

green beans tossed in rendered jowl bacon fat then simmered

'porterhouse' pork chops pan cooked

I made potatoes and didn't remember to get them out of the oven (I did remember to turn off the oven) so those will be part of a dinner this weekend

It's comforting to know that I am not the only one who does things like that!

I had blueberry pancakes at Denny's. My wife had the chocolate chip pancakes. We had a 20% off coupon.

I can't remember the last time I have seen a Denny's. Lots of Waffle Houses and IHOPs around here.

Oddly, Denny's has become a favorite for my wife and me. It's close to our house, there's never a line, the prices are very reasonable, and we really like the food. Plus, it's relatively quiet in there, which is important for someone with a hearing disability. Most of the other restaurants we frequent are much louder, which makes communication more difficult.
