Long Term Storage and Pre Smoke Storage
When I started I kept my smokes at 70%...then I experimented with 65%. I prefer 65% now and the question is if I get some sticks that I'm not going to smoke for awhile, should I keep those at 70% (read they age better at that %) and then move them to my other humi that's at 65% to stage it to smoke?

I don't think there's an objective answer to your question. We're talking about matters of personal taste here, which drops you right into the Subjective Zone. Lots of folks will offer up their opinions, just keep in mind that that's exactly what they are.
My opinion is that I prefer most cigars at 63-65% RH, so that's how I store them. I don't think you hurt anything by aging them at 70%, so long as you don't develop mold or let them get warm enough that you have to worry about beetles. I have cigars that I've stored at 65% for 3+ years that smoke wonderfully. Anything I intend to age longer than that gets vacuum sealed. (A quick search will get you to that thread in a hurry.) Just keep in mind that it takes weeks (at a minimum) to re-equilibrate cigars to a higher or lower RH. In other words, if you've stored them at 70% for a couple of years, don't toss 'em in a 65% humidor and expect them to have adjusted in a couple of days. My rule of thumb is two weeks minimum, more for larger RG cigars.

My theory is why create extra work moving from one to the other?
I like cigars at 62-65% RH, so that's where I store them. When I was a noob, I used 70%, but that seems waaaay too humid now.

Agreed. I was the same way, and eventually I found out what I liked by trial and error.
In the 60's for me too.

I started at 70% as well with PG and floral foam. After I decided to go to beads and 65%, or a percent or two lower, it didn't take long to discover that all of my cigars smoked so much better. Other than the occasional plugged or just overly to tight of a rolled cigar, of the cigars that have been stored in those conditions for some time I can't remember the last time I had a cigar that had a major burn issue or a draw issue for that matter. To me it was amazing what difference it made going from 70% down to 63-65%

I'm with you fellas.....
I store mind at 65% or so. It gets difficult in the summers, with the high heat, but I try to keep them at 65% or so. In my experience, my cigars just smoke better at that RH storage.

I am even lower.....
I store and smoke at 59-61% rh (usually 60-61) and it is because the world tastes better there.... I also give new cigars I buy about 1 full month to acclimate.... j
