Review of Vector Thunderbird (Butane Zippo)

I picked one of these up about a month ago and wanted to use it a while before puting this out there. I know a lot of people (myself included) have been looking for a butane zippo, and this is the closest thing you will be able to find that doesn't say zippo.

I have always been a fan of an open flame. I just like it better then a torch. I will always carry a torch, but only as a backup or to do pinpoint touchups on a cigar. For lighting purposes, it's always usually an open flame.

When you open the thunderbird it looks identical to a zippo other than one thing. The fuel trigger is right under the lever that snaps the top over. So, when you open the top, the lever goes up (open) when you close, the lever shuts off. Very nice. When taking it a part you want to make sure you flip that lever open once you get open it so that you don't lose too much fuel.

It refills perfectly with Vector gas (it should, it's made be vector). No adapter is required. There whole under body of the lighter is white plastic, so if you holdit to the light, you can see a shadow of how much fuel is left.

The best thing about this lighter . . . the inside fits perfectly in every Zippo I have tried. So this gives you your zippo case of whatever floats your boat, along with a refillable butane lighter.

The longest I went between refills was probably about 15 cigars I would say. Maybe more depending on how long you toast the foot.

I love this lighter. I like it almost as well as the Emperor (triple flame butane). But on the factor of having an American classic with me at all times, ithe best!!
