Amateur review: Ron Zacapa Centenario
This rum rated highest by the Beverage Tasting Institute.
My impressions: Very dark charcoal brown, thick like hot maple syrup. Initial nose is extremely fruity like a cognac. Initial attack is sweet I mean sweet like a desert wine. Very rich and fruity (grapes and plums) with an strong current of oak. Lengthy sugarcane and prune finish. This is a most unusual rum -- exceptionally sweet and cordial-like with almost cognac-like fruit one would never expect with sugarcane as the main ingredient. Ferdelance, you probably won't like this one.
