I think a great brew to have with a stogie would be a 2(at least) year old Bigfoot
barleywine. I say 2 years aged cause thats how long it would take to get the hoppy edge taken off! Johnboy America the strong and the brave. |

Now that is one I hadn't thought about. Hmm, I am going to be brewing a barley wine soon. I shall have to keep this in mind.

Cool!
Another homebrewer!!!!! God Bless YA!!! I have been homebrewing now for about 7 years, and BW are my specialty (along with real lagers) I have even won the West coast regional contest with my Johnboys BW! I lost out though when the competition went mid-west and east. Oh well. That was my 15 minutes of fame and it was great. I am not sure of you experience level but if you have any questions just drop me an email ok? Johnboy America the strong and the brave. |

I have been brewing about a year and a half. Mostly porters and stouts. I dabble with some brown ales and IPA, also. I am going to expand my recipes with some bock, pilsener and BW. I would love to look at your recipes for the Barley Wine if you wouldn't mind.

Do you do all-grain or extract? Most of my recipes are all grain, but converting them is very easy. Is your email addy good? Give me a chance to dig through my book of recipes and i will share it with you.

My e-mail addy is correct.
I have done mainly extracts. I do have a couple mash/extracts that I just started messing with.

I don't have a scotch ale in my collection yet. I am a stout and porter fanatic.
Do you brew?
