Going to Houston, Houston, Houston!
Carlos Beltran lands in Houston. That's one hell of a deal that Houston made. Congrats to Houston!

The Yankees would have had to give up a lot of talent to pick up Beltran. He'll be a free agent next year. So, temporary stop in Houston.

Lastros front office must think this is the year. Now, what will they do with Craig Biggio??
They ditched Billy Wagner because they didn't want to do his contract and because they had Octavio Dotel waiting in the wings. Now there goes their closer. Who will that be, now? Brad Lidge? Octavio Dotel will fit right into the closer spot for the A's. This was a three team deal. We (New Orleans Zephyrs) are losing our catcher John Buck in this deal. He's a very promising player, passable as a backstop but a good hitter. The Astros have had quite a few like that over the last number of years.

I'm glad to see biggio moved out of the gigantic sparce known as cf at minute maid park. he has a weak arm and weak wheels. the short confines of left field will suit him well.
I can't wait until drayton's cheap ass sells the astros to someone who is willing to drop some coin to keep our talent. don't be fooled, he only signed clemens because he got a HUGE hometown discount and he knew both he and andy would bring in the crowds. |

Wow, Guy. Nice take.
Here in New Orleans, we haven't had any real talent or help from the big club for a long time. Many of us are almost glad they're moving the AAA to Round Rock. Maybe we'll get a big club that's interested in us, down here.

Biggio will go to LF and Berkman to RF.
Beltran will cover more territory in CF than either of them ever thought about.

Without a doubt.
Those guys on Baseball Tonight can bitch all they want; I love that CF at Minute Maid Park. Biggio isn't a natural outfielder which is why he had trouble with the hill. Should the Astros either keep Beltran, or get another legitimate center fielder, I'm certain he'd learn to play there. Remember that most of these guys practice very little on game day. A few fly balls and BP and that's about it judging from what I see in the AAA ball park.
