That's not my photo. Took it off line since I don't have photos on this laptop. I believe that it's mold; it's too white, and it's all over the foot. There are two kinds of bloom, I believe, one is from oil and it's white and soapy looking, sort of, yet still powdery. The other is little needle like crystals. The first is because of oils absorbing water, I believe, and the second is caused by minerals in the tobacco, for example, nitrates from fertile soil crystalizing after working out of the leaf by fluctuations in humidity.
Mold? Generally look for discolored fuzz, like green or blue. Look for dots. Tall fuzzy areas. On the foot, sometimes on the veins. |
