Richie Havens played a set worthy of his legendary status. He opened by explaining that he learned this song through a friends "demo." "I must have sangf it 14 times a day down in the village." Then another friend wanted the lyrics to it so he could record it. So I worte them down for him. And then he recorded the definitive version of it, so I never really played it again. But lately young fans have been asking me to play this song. And I ask them "where did you hear me play it? and they replied on my grandma's vinyl!"

Then he launched into "All along the watchtwoer." Way cool. He sang his hits (Here comes the sun), Freedom, Blood on the Wire and many others. Highly recommended if you can catch him this summer!
