Sounds like Cigar Oasis with a small fan to circulate the air would work, but since I don't have something like it, I'm only speculating...

I use both oasis and beads... the oasis is there to top up the humidity during winter.. as it is a topical climate here and humidity would go up if I relied on the oasis for summer.. I use beads too.. to suck excess humidity down to %65.... I don't want to use solely beads.. don't have the room for it.. and I like the fan circulating the air a bit....
So I have the oasis at the bottom of the cab and beads at the top.. (warm air raises and warm air contains more rh ..so the beads are placed at the top for that reason.. bugger it if i know if that is a correct pressumption and placement, but the cab is holding 65% throughout.. so, so far so good.. In your case..since you are moving around with it to different climate zones (if you have that with you on the ship).. I would definitly not rely solely on the oasis.. that has not the capasity to lower the humidity.. and if the humidity outside is %80... you want something that lowers the humidity with to a certain level.. hence the beads!!

Climmax is not a humidifier, it simply does not hold enough water to be classified as a humidifier. Its function is to top up, or absorb small variances. Depending on your climate, you may be able to get along with just climmax, assuming your climate is relatively stable and doesn't drift too far from 70/70 for long periods.
In most parts of north America, this is not the case. Many northern climes experience very low humidity rates (below 40%) for several months. In this case you would be better off with a real humidifier like the Oasis. In summer the humidity may top 80%, so the climmax in this case would help take away some of this excess humidity. Bottom line, in most parts of the country you will be better off with both CLimmax and a real humidifier.

Sounds like I should use both. The cabinet is at home (or on its way). I have a 250 "Treasure dome", a 150 El Rey glasstop and a coolerdor on board.
I live in Socal, in the high desert, so humidity is usually low. That makes me feel like i'd need the Oasis. Then in the rainy months (yeah, the Mamas and Papas were wrong, cuz it does rain in Socal) it goes up a bit. I think i'll do both. Thanks to all for the input.
