Great Vintage Cigar Cabinet in New Jersey!

If I lived close enought to pick this one up I'd bid on it!

**ebay link**

I'd put some beads in the glass lined compartments and use it as is.

Thats a decent looking box. If it hold humidity well, it's a good intro to cabinets.

Good bang for the buck, but the refinish on this piece is really shitty

I don't think it was refinished. Usually when you see that shiny wet look it means that someone went ape with the lemon oil. But I could be wrong. That's why one should ask questions before bidding.

Nah, it was certainly refinished, and not so well.

If you look at the picture with the brass lock, you can see the outside finish of the humidor, the finish on the edge of the door, and the inside finish of the door.

You can plainly see that the outside, and edge of the door have been polyurethaned or refinished. The inside of the door retains it's original patina.

You can see the urethane on the brass lock as it pools at the bottom of the hinge !!
With the flash, I agree, it is hard to tell what the finished product looks like
