'01 Cohiba Siglo V

Appearance - Medium Colorado wrapper with a few minor veins.

Construction - Very firm, with a slight indentation in the middle of the cigar - probably from the ribbon.

Draw/Burn/Ash - The draw was slightly tight, but didn't hinder the smoking experience. The burn was very good - no relights, and burned evenly. The ash was medium to dark gray, slightly flaky.

Strength - Medium to mild in strength. If you're going to smoke a couple of cigars in a day you definitely want to start with this one, otherwise you'll probably miss the subtle flavors that this cigar produces, imo. I smoked this mid-morning.

Flavor - MRN often labels certain cigars a "connoisseur's cigar", and I think wtf are you talking about? Connoisseur my a.. lol! Maybe what he's writing about is concentration, which is what this Cohiba demands. The flavors in this cigar are subtle and require, for me at least, total concentration to savor the hide-and-seek creamy-coffee flavors that flit about during this smoke. The finish on this Siglo is extraordinary. The flavors bounced around my palate after every draw and remained there until the next puff. Very nice.

Overall - If your looking for a mild cigar with subtle flavors, this is a very good one. Perfect mid-day cigar. 92/100
