Here is the deal I started with. I chose the Deluxe Kit. It is a very good kit. This is my local HBS and I can say he is very easy to deal with.
http://www.mainbrew.com/pages/starte...rstartkit.html When I started I used a small enamel pot and did 3 gallon concentrated boils. As you get further into the hobby you can upgraed to better kettles and add a chiller and the like. Start small and make sure this is going to be something you want to do. I know of several people who spent a bunch of $$ and never got beyond the first year of brewing.
